Topic:                Who Is A Baby Christian?

1.     Like a human being a baby Christian is a “fresh” convert, who is newly born in the faith.

2.     He/she depends for survival on the milk of the faith which is the word of God.

3.     Every believer has a past, which is the period when he was a sinner, because he (i) was not aware of the existence of God or (ii) was actively opposed to God, being an aethest, Eph. 2:1-3

4.     We have all come into the faith on account of God’s mercy and love for us who are the work of His hand, Eph. 2:4, Ps. 103:1-3

5.     Even after accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior we still commit sins occasionally.  We must repent.  If we do so sincerely then God will forgive us. I John 1:8-10

Week 2:                Oct. 10

Topic:                   Discipling The “Babies”

1.     Encourage the young christians to read the bible. Encourage them to pay particular attention to the following:

(a)    The Conception and Birth of Jesus, Matt. 1:18-25

(b)    The Temptation, Matt. 4:1-11

(c)    The Mission of Christ, Luke 4:18-19

(d)    Jesus as the Light of the World - the world of darkness where satan imposed himself after the Fall of Adam, John 1:1-9

(e)    Jesus performed many miracles, including the raising of the dead, John 11:39-44

(f)     Although He was not a sinner, He was condemned to death and nailed to the cross, John 19:13-18

(g)    God raised Him up on the third day and He thereafter returned to heaven, John 20:11-18

2.     Encourage the young christians to participate fully in church activities, especially worship and bible study

Week 3:                       Oct 17

Topic:                         The Transition To “Solid Food”

1.    While on earth Jesus was the discipler of His followers, guiding, teaching and admonishing them, John 15:3-8

2.    The task of discipleship continued even after His death, resurrection and ascension, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. To that extent every living Christian is a life long disciple, John 16:7-15

3.    So at some point, the baby Christian begins to eat solid food- such as

(i)    the origin of sin, in heaven Ezek. 28:12-19

(ii)   on earth Adam Gen. 3:1-19

(iii)   the hardship and pain in the work of the gospel

         leading to heavenly joy, Luke 13:24.

4.    The importance of The Great Commission, Matt. 28:19-20, Mk. 16:15-18, Lk. 24:46-49, John 20:21-23
