1.       At the human level mercy is keeping oneself from punishing someone else, who is within one’s power to discipline, even when there is justification for doing so.

2.       At the spiritual level mercy is the disposition to forgive a repenting sinner, Isa. 44:22

3.       Indeed mercy is the greatest attribute of God which all believers should aspire to, Ex. 34:6&7

4.       Mercy is compassion for the hungry, the sick, the lonely and the helpless, all qualities for which Christ was known and appreciated, Matt. 15, 32; Mk. 5:18-19, Luke 5:12-14
